Round Number 2

{ Sunday, September 20, 2009 }
So previously we posted 6 honeymoon pictures out of the 600 we took, obviously that wasn't enough, therefore I am going to share a few more complete with captions. So sit back and enjoy beautiful Puerto Plata of the Dominican Republic:

Our first night there enjoying the view of the ocean

Another beautiful ocean view

This is a view of the main building of the resort from our favorite pool spot

The grand terrace next to our favorite pool

Us enjoying pineapple and coconut drinks on the grand terrace

The next day we were there we took a day boat ride out to Paradise Island were we snorkled in the ocean and saw the reef that surrounds the island. We had an underwater camera but we don't think it worked, but we are going to try to get it developed soon anyway. So no pictures of the reef but pictures of the beautiful view.

This is the boat to Paradise Island

The beauiful Paradise Island it is the size of half a football field with five tiki huts on it but..

It has the most beautiful sparkiling blue water

We also won a day at the cabana which is the fancier part of the resort. We got to lay around all day and be waited on. It was fabulous.

We took a trip into the city of Puerto Plata, the first stop of the day was a cable car ride up to the top of Mount Isabel de Torres. On top of the mountain are beautiful botanical gardens and a resturant.

During the city trip we saw how cigars are made, we learned about Larimar and amber jewelery. The highlight of the day was getting to see the Brugal Rum Factory. The country exports 30% and keeps 70% on the island. Their motto is "Save the water, drink rum" Jon is posing by the Brugal barrels

Our last stop of the day was the spanish Fort San Felipe. It had beautiful views of the ocean.

Our last excursion was a trip to Ocean World Marine Park. There we saw the sealion show, the shark show, and the dolphin show. The hightlight of the trip however, was when Jon got to pet the sealions and I got to swim with the dolphins.
