The Christmas Spirit

{ Friday, December 11, 2009 }
I absolutely love the holiday season! I love to decorate my house and Christmas is my second favorite (fall is still first) holiday to decorate for. I of course put my decorations up the day after Thanksgiving. I'm crazy like that! I am so excited because this year was the first year my wonderful husband agreed to put up lights outside for me. He bought a timer for the Christmas tree and the outside lights so I don't have to rememeber to turn the lights on and off...It is fantastic, I recommend it for everyone. I thought I would share decorating, because I am pretty proud of it. I wish everyone a wonderfully blissful holiday season!

The Christmas tree and my make-shift mantle hidden behind it. The "real" house will house will have a fireplace with a mantle. The wooden snowman off to the side Larry made me.....I need to paint him....

I have bought so much garland...so I tried to use as much as possble. My solution was to wrap the window rods, add origami paper stars garland and hang glass ornaments. I thought it turned out really cute...I am pretty proud of myself!

The stained glass stars on the door were purchased at the annual Christmas At Wings Craft Show. I love that craft show, it is a little crowded but so worth it.

Thanks for the lights, you are the best hubby!

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!!!

A feast for the local wild life

{ Monday, November 9, 2009 }
For the fall season I bought pumpkins to decorate the outside of the house and to carve for Halloween. Well as it turns out we didn't have time carve them so they are sitting pretty on the front porch. I guess this was an invitation for the local squirrels to climb on the front porch and feast on my decorations.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!!

Trick or Treat

{ Tuesday, November 3, 2009 }
On Saturday Kim, Phil and Natalie invited Jon and I to The Great Zoo Boo at Binder Park Zoo to celebrate Halloween. We hadn't been there since we were kids so we were excited to see how it had changed. So with Natalie in her dalmation costume and the rest of us bundled up warm we headed out. We got to go trick or treating (which none of us had done in years), we enjoyed seeing some of the animals still here for winter. We ended the trip on a Hayride around the zoo. So much fun! We are going to make it a yearly trip!

After the Zoo Boo we went back to the Maltburgs where we met Randy and Liza and enjoyed a delicious feast. I made caramel apples, they are a lot harder to make then I expected. But everyone enjoyed them so it was worth it!

Busy Busy

{ Sunday, November 1, 2009 }
As veryone know I am not a faithful blogger. I get busy and I forgot to post. So like usual I am going to post the past couple of months....

On October 16th Kristin celebrated her birthday, HAPPY BIRTHDAY KRISTIN!

The next weekend Jon and I went tailigating with "the gang" (The Maltburgs, The Maltby's, Jen and Nate and friends) for the MSU vs Iowa game. We had such great seats I could actaully see the field (rememeber I am half blind). I had never been to a Big Ten game before so as you can imagine I was beyond excited. Even though MSU lost the last quater of the game was AMAZING to watch. So overall we had a blast.
